OptiMed AI was founded on a simple belief: AI should elevate — not replace — clinical judgement. We've seen firsthand how today's healthcare professionals are asked to do more with less. Fragmented systems, information overload, and constant time pressure make it harder than ever to deliver the level of care every patient deserves.

From the start, our mission has been clear: Have doctors to what they do best, care for patients. We want to achieve this by building diagnostic-support tools that respect the complexity of medicine, honor the expertise of clinicians, and fit into real-world workflows. We're not creating shortcuts, we're building systems that empower healthcare professionals to make faster, safer, and more confident decisions.

Our Story

OptiMed AI was founded by three friends, Smyan, Allan, and David who met during high school and bonded over a shared vision: to fix the fragmentation and inefficiencies in modern healthcare systems using AI. What started as brainstorming sessions between classes evolved into a serious project when they saw how much time clinicians spent on documentation and searching for patient information.

Frustrated by the limits of existing electronic health records and inspired by the potential of generative AI, they set out to build something better — a Functional Health Record (FHR) that could work across institutions, adapt to clinician workflows, and enable faster, safer decisions.

With backgrounds in engineering, management, and finance, they combined their skills to bootstrap the company, build an MVP using synthetic data, and begin early conversations with private healthcare providers in Sweden. That’s how OptiMed AI was born. Not just as a startup, but as a mission to give healthcare professionals more time for what matters most: the patient.
